Spanish Mortgages by Bancaixa
Bancaixa offers a wide range of Spanish mortgages to both residents and non-residents. The Spanish mortgages offered at Bancaixa include a good range of both fixed rate Spanish mortgages and variable rate Spanish mortgages.
Competitive interest rates and opening fees combined with low redemption penalties are also a feature of the selection of mortgages offered by Bancaixa.
Bancaixa pride themselves on complete transparency in fees. This bank’s clients are left in no doubt as to what is being spent, while small print does not exist on any document.
They also make some great promises:
- They will inform you of the commission chargeable on any transaction before going ahead. If not, they refund you the commission paid.
- If you are short of funds to pay a loan, card or debit, they inform you my SMS message to your mobile phone. If they fail to do so, they pay you 10 euros.
- If you are of an OAP, they always pay household bills, whether or not there are funds available in your account (up to a maximum of 500 euros and provided you have no other unpaid debts from the account in the past 30 days). If not, they pay you 10 euros.
- No commissions on current accounts for over 65s and under 26s. If they charge you, they pay you double the charge in compensation.
- They give you an answer on a loan application within one working day. If not, they pay the opening fee.
- Internet and telephone banking allows information within 24 hours on account status. If not, they will pay you 10 euros.
- They get back to you regarding any formal complaint within 2 working days. For each day that exceeds this, they pay 5 euors (up to maximum 50 euros).
- If one of their cash point machines doesn’t work, they will pay you double the commission you had to pay to use another.
- If your card is stolen or lost, you will get a replacement in your desired branch of Bancaixa by the next working day (if you order it before 15:00 hrs). If not, they pay you 10 euros.
- Young people under 26 do not pay commission for their cards. If a charge is made, they refund you double the commission charged.
- They defer mortgage repayments for 6 months if you lose your job. The missed payments will be paid at the end of the loan term, without extra interest. This can be done once every 3 years, provided you are without income. If they neglect to do this, Bancaixa will defer all payments for a year, free of charge.
